Nancy Jackson LaWall

Nancy Jackson LaWall of South Boston, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 24th 2025, she was 82 years old. Nancy was born in Dayton, Kentucky on October 6th, 1942 to the late Preston Jackson and the late Mary Smith Jackson of Radcliff, Kentucky. She was a 1960 graduate of Fort Knox (Kentucky) High school, and a 1964 graduate in elementary education of Campbellsville (Kentucky) university.

Nancy was married to Reverend William H. LaWall of Easton Pennsylvania, who has survived her after 59 years of marriage. Together they became the parents of one child, Melanie L. Vollrath (Mark) of Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition, Nancy is survived by three wonderful grandchildren, Trevor J. Maple, Victoria J. Vollrath, and Alexandra R. Vollrath. She is also survived by a brother, Robert P. Jackson (Barbara) of St. Albans, West Virginia; and two nephews Robbie Jackson (Laura) and Chris Jackson. Surviving Nancy also are three great nieces, Juniper, Ruby, and Willa Jackson, and one great nephew, Everett Jackson.

Nancy was a devout Christian. She was also a devoted elementary school teacher for many years in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. As the wife of a pastor she was a dedicated visitor of the elderly in both the church and the community. She was also a Sunday School teacher and was active in women's missions. Nancy loved children not only as a teacher, but as a loving mother and grandmother.

At the time of her passing, Nancy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Virginia. She was a long-standing member, prior to that, of North Fork Baptist Church in Virgilina, Virginia where her husband Bill served in his last full time pastorate.

The funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Monday, July 28th, 2025 at 2pm, with Pastors Sean McGuire and Kevin Moen officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 1pm, one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in Bethel Baptist church cemetery immediately following. The family is being served by Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
