Nona Elizabeth Mcguire Morgan

July 10, 1921 — July 30, 2012

Nona Elizabeth McGuire Morgan passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord, July 30, 2012. She was at home and surrounded by her family and caregivers. The daughter of Dr. William P. McGuire and Mary Ellen Robertson McGuire was born on July 10, 1921 in Wylliesburg, Va. She was the youngest and only girl with three loving brothers, A. Stuart McGuire, Pendleton R. McGuire Eleanor and Benjamin W. McGuire Irene who all predeceased her. She reached for Heaven often in the last years of her life, longing to see her beloved grandson, Corey; her mother, Ellen, and her husband, Willard, who were waiting for her. She also wanted to be reunited with many special friends, including her "therapy cat", Capers. At peace, we are left here to treasure ALL of the wonderful memories, to carry on the values, gentleness and optimism she taught us and to look forward to the day we are reunited. We, her children, are: Joanne P. Morgan Bryan, Clift Morgan and his wife, Brenda; Jaime Morgan Al and her son, Alexander. She is, also, survived by her special cousin, Mary R. Morgan and her beloved nieces and nephews. The last years of Mom's life were blessed by caregivers, Heidi, Lori, Kay her niece, Krysten, Mary, Karen, Jessica and Jaime her granddaughter, who saw to her every need. She was also cared for by medical "angels", Dr. Susan Hundley and staff, Robin Harmer and Dawn and staff at Halifax Heart Center and Halifax Regional Hospice and Palliative Care. Always taking care of her beautiful hair was Gloria Jordon of Your Hair Place. Holding her hand and leading her home is our special friend, Reverend Jane Lyon of Antioch Baptist Church. She left a special "imprint" on the hearts of so many people whose life stories she shared and whose "best cheerleader" she became. Funeral service will be 11 o'clock A.M. Thursday at Clarksville Baptist Church with interment to follow at Oakhurst Cemetery. Friends and family will share a special time prior to the service, starting at 10 o'clock A.M. at the church. Mom would say: Please consider memorial contributions to help the animals at Lake Country SPCA, P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, Va. 23927. They need your love and support!"
