Patricia White Gayle

 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia White Gayle, who departed this life on Thursday, September 11th, 2025, at the age of 64. Patricia, affectionately known as Trish, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on Tuesday, February 21st, 1961, she left an indelible mark on everyone whose life she touched.

Patricia was a longtime resident of Virgilina, Virginia, where her warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her. She attended Danville Community College and dedicated her professional life to working in Shipping and Receiving for a Metal Fabrication Company. Patricia’s work ethic and commitment to her profession were admired by her colleagues and friends. She grew up in Nelson Baptist Church were she brought joy and enjoyed sharing amazing stories about her ministry.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lindsey White and Ruth Gilliland Hite, her cherished daughter Michelle Puryear, and her siblings, Ricky White, Lindsey White, and Ronnie White. Their memories lived on through Patricia, who spoke of them with love and fondness.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Henry "Bubba" Gayle, who shared in her joys and dreams. Alongside him, Patricia leaves behind her loving daughter, Crystal Ward, and son-in-law Nicholas and their son William Ward of Buffalo Junction, Virginia. Her legacy continues through her step-children, Brandon Thomas (Christina) Gayle, and Emily Gayle; her cherished step-grandchildren, Brandon T. Gayle II, Lainey Gayle, Hannah Whitt, and Breyanna Lucas, who were the light of her life.

Patricia’s love for her family was matched by her love for her animals, especially her beloved dogs and cats. A woman with a creative spirit, she found joy in arts and crafts, particularly in creating Christmas ornaments. Her eye for beauty extended to interior design and sewing, where her talents flourished. Patricia relished being active outdoors, finding peace and happiness under the open sky.

A Visitation celebrating Patricia's life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to join in reflecting on the beautiful life Patricia led and the lasting impact she made on the hearts of those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Patricia’s memory may consider a donation to a local animal shelter, in keeping with her love for animals.

Patricia White Gayle will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal rest, and may her spirit live on in the hearts of those she loved.
