It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Carlton Hudson of Virgilina, VA, who passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 74. Paul was born on August 13, 1951, to the late Floyd Hudson and Virginia Wilson Hudson.
Paul was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, well-loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Holt Hudson, who along with Paul, built a life rich with family and community ties. A proud graduate of DCC, Paul dedicated his life to farming, working tirelessly on his land with a commitment and passion that were evident to all. His work ethic was a trait he proudly instilled in his children, ensuring that the values of hard work and perseverance were passed on to future generations. He shared a special bond with his beloved grandchildren, whom he affectionately nicknamed, and with whom he spent countless hours fishing, passing on his love for the great outdoors. Paul was also an enthusiastic member of the Red Bank Hunting Club, where he found camaraderie and joy, while riding shotgun with Wendall Rice. One of his simple pleasures in life was watching Family Feud on television, a pastime he enjoyed regularly. Being a lifetime member of North Fork Baptist Church, he loved his Lord and Savior, spending every Sunday he possibly could at church. Paul’s absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love, courage, and dedication will remain a guiding light for all those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Melanie Hudson Puryear, Melissa Hudson White, & Carla Hudson Heaton; son, Philip Hudson; grandchildren, Ian Puryear, Jenna Fox, Drake White & Wyatt Fox; siblings, Muriel Williams, Curtis Hudson, Linda Gale, Judy Lee, Alan Hudson & Hilton Hudson.
