Pauline Elliott Blount

August 5, 1941 — September 1, 2025

Scottsburg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline Elliott Blount, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and community member. Pauline peacefully left this world on the morning of September 1, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on Tuesday, August 5, 1941, in Nelson, Virginia, Pauline was the cherished daughter of the late William Elliott and Virgie Wiles Elliott. She is survived by her husband, David "Tommy" Thompson Blount of the home.

A resident of Scottsburg, Virginia, Pauline was a woman of faith, regularly attending Main Street United Methodist Church where she found solace and fellowship. Her devotion to her faith was paralleled by her commitment to her work as an inspector at the former Tultex, where her meticulous attention to detail and dedicated work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Pauline was the heart of her family, known for her warmth and kindness. She was a passionate cook who delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones, turning every family gathering into a feast filled with laughter and love. Her home was a reflection of her love for decorating, especially during the Christmas season, a time when her home brimmed with festive cheer and joy. An avid reader, Pauline often found refuge in the pages of her favorite books, finding stories that stirred her imagination and kept her ever-curious mind engaged.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy; daughters, Cindy Myrick of Richmond and Donna New of South Boston; son, Craig Myrick (Fannie) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Ashly New, Heather New, Justin Pardin, Zachary Myrick, Lucas Myrick, & Noah Myrick; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Betty Womack (C.J.), W.G. Elliott, Rex Alan Elliott, Connie Waldrep (DeeDee) & Susan Harlow; her stepson, David Blount (Brandy); and her step grandchildren, Lexi Blount, Madison Blount, and Mckensey Blount.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Hazel Dunn, Kenneth Elliott, Tex Elliott, Carson Elliott, Mark Elliott and Carolyn Hudson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Thad Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1PM until 2 PM, at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at her home.

Pauline's departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and a zest for life will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
