Rebecca Johnson Hall, a cherished member of the Clarksville, Virginia community, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born in Wake County, North Carolina, Rebecca brought joy and inspiration to those around her throughout her long and fruitful life.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Sam Keith Upchurch (Brenda) and Samuel Walter Upchurch (Debra), who brought endless pride and joy to her life. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kane Upchurch (Kimberly), Kalan Talton (Andy), Tracey Lane (Chris), Casey Woodall (Kevin), and their children Kaden, Kobie, Kyle, Kyla, Camille, Layla, Gentry, Harlan, Wilson, Clint, Waylon, Hannah, Elaina, Nick, Katie, Noah, Grace, Tyler, and her great-great-grandchildren Willow, Brantley, Wyatt, and Brewer. Rebecca was cherished by her devoted sister, Mae Cartrette and numerous nieces and nephews who always felt her warmth and wisdom.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Donald Beeching-Hall. She was the loving daughter of the late Walter Johnson and Maddie Brantley Johnson. Her siblings, Cherry Dickens and Clarence Johnson, also preceded her in death.

Rebecca pursued her education through business school with Weston House, where she later dedicated her career as a highly appreciated and respected secretary. Rising to the position of Head Secretary, her competence and kindness left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the organization.

Beyond her professional life, Rebecca was a talented artist with a passion for watercolor and acrylic painting. She explored the depths of her creativity through art, often delighting family and friends with her beautifully crafted pieces. Rebecca's curiosity extended to a deep interest in ancestry and genealogy, where she spent much of her time exploring her family roots.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 2:00 PM in the peaceful setting of Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, VA, where family and friends are invited to remember and honor her extraordinary life.

Arrangements for Rebecca's celebration of life are being handled by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
