The community of Clarksville is heartbroken to announce the passing of Rebecca "Becky" Adcock Rice, who departed this life on Monday, October 6th, 2025, at the age of 78. Becky was born on December 7th, 1946, right here in her beloved hometown of Clarksville, Virginia.
Becky was the cherished daughter of Henry Adcock and Macie Burnette, who preceded her in death, along with her dear spouse, Robert "Bob" Rice. She remained a devoted member of the Clarksville community throughout her life, finding both joy and tranquility in the familiar surroundings of her hometown.
With a career that spanned 30 years as a dedicated Lab Technician for Burlington Industries, Becky's commitment to her work and colleagues was unwavering. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her warm and friendly demeanor. Her colleagues and friends remember her as someone who brought passion and integrity to every task she undertook.
Outside of her professional life, Becky found happiness in the simple pleasures. Tending to her vibrant yard and cultivating beautiful flowers were activities she treasured, and her garden was a testament to her green thumb and eye for beauty. She was also an immaculate homemaker who took pride in creating a welcoming environment filled with love and laughter.
Becky's happiest moments, however, were spent surrounded by family aboard their pontoon on the lake. The cherished memories of these gatherings will forever linger in the hearts of her loved ones. In addition, Becky delighted in monthly meetings with her beloved classmates, affectionately known as the "Golden Girls," cherishing the enduring friendships they shared throughout their lives.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Bagbey (Danny); her son, Robert Rice II ("Two"); grandchildren, Kelsey Owen (David), Brianna Daniel (Zach), Seth Bagbey (Ela), Robbie Rice (Michaela), and Remington Rice; great grandchild, Wrenley Rice; siblings, Judy West and Billy Adcock (Teresa); brother-in-law, Eugene Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Helen Morrison, Jane Rice and Patsy Rice; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Suzi Clayton and neighbor, Gloria Sharber.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and sisters, Nancy Cash and Linda Montgomery.
The family would like to recognize and thank First Care Hospice of South Boston for their dedication and care towards Becky, a special thank you to her nurse, Karen Tharrington.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mecklenburg Cancer Association, PO Box 94, Clarksville, VA. 23927 in Becky's memory.
May Becky's journey ahead be as gentle and beautiful as the life she lived.
