Roy Edward Cash of Nathalie, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 11th, 1947, in Amherst, Virginia, he was the son of the late Henry and Ceelie Sorrels Cash. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Conner Cash.
Roy dedicated his career to the logging industry, where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him. His deep connection with the land and his proficiency in logging made him a respected figure in his field.
Beyond his professional life, Roy was an ardent fisherman who truly loved being on the water. He shared this passion with his family, teaching them the art of fishing and imparting his love for nature. He was a man of many talents, particularly in woodworking and carpentry. He was always working on a project, and he was known for his remarkable ability to build anything. A devoted family man and a loving husband and father, Roy adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. His beloved wife, whom he often described as his "absolute sweetheart," was the cornerstone of his life and his greatest source of joy.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his children, Gary Wade Cash and Susan Juanita Cash; grandchildren, Phyllis Anne Lacks, Alex Cash, MacKenzie Francis (Xylia), J.T. Francis, Wyatt Francis, Dwyane Cash, Jr., and Savanna Cash; 3 great grandchildren, Maryn, Emerson and Carter; brother, Glenn Cash and niece, Alice Whitby (Jesse).
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dwyane Edward Cash, and 9 brothers & sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home.
