Sam Icenhour

Mr. Sam Icenhour, 91, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 in Twin Lakes Nursing Home in Burlington, NC. Born April 14, 1921, Sam was one of eight children born to the late James Wallace and Mamie Watson Icenhour of Chase City. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired farmer. Funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Chase City. Mr. Icenhour is survived by his sister, Agnes Nord, sister-in-law, Lilly Icenhour, nieces, Karlotta Young Thomas, Dorothy Adcock Doug, Mildred Elliott, Ruth Ann Thompson Robert; and nephews, Randall Nord Christy and Leroy Icenhour Linda. He also has many great nieces and nephews that survive him. The family will receive friends prior to the service, starting at 1PM at the funeral home. The family expresses many thanks to the staff of Twin Lakes Nursing Home.
