Shaun Emory Waldrep

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shaun Emory Waldrep, a beloved father, Son, brother, grandson, and friend. Born on April 26, 1982, Shaun left us unexpectedly on May 9, 2026. A resident of Nelson, VA, Shaun was known for his vibrant spirit and heartwarming humor.

Shaun was the devoted owner and operator of SW Asphalt Paving & Coating. His commitment to his work was surpassed only by his dedication to his family. Shaun's love for spending time with his children Dylon Jay Seamans, Kaydence Jean Waldrep, and Kylee Kendell Waldrep defined his life. He is also survived by his parents Emory "Dee Dee" Speer Waldrep III, and Connie Jean Elliott Waldrep; brother, Anthony "Tony" Speer Waldrep, and sister Misti Nicole Waldrep (Sara Rachelle). Shaun cherished the wisdom and love of his paternal grandparents, Emory Speer Waldrep JR and Rose Marie Smith. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, William Anderson Elliott and Virgie Ida Wiles Elliott.

Beyond his professional life, Shaun had many passions. He enjoyed vintage TV shows, catfishing , and spending time with his pet squirrel Sandy. A former chef, Shaun relished the joy of cooking and was always ready with a joke to bring laughter to those around him.

Friends and family are invited to honor Shaun's life at a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville, VA. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Shaun's joyful presence will be dearly missed, but his legacy of laughter, love, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Arrangements are provided by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
