Timothy Owen Griffin, lovingly referred to as "Papa Tim," a beloved member of the Buffalo Junction community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1st, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born on June 16th, 1952, Timothy was the son of the late Henry Elvedge Griffin and Eunice Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Delores Griffin.
A 1970 graduate of Bluestone High School, Timothy went on to dedicate 30 years of his career to Burlington Industries, where he was known for his unwavering commitment and work ethic. In addition to his professional endeavors, he spent a lifetime as a dedicated cattle farmer, a testament to his love for the land and his steadfast work within the community.
Timothy proudly served in the US Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978, achieving the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge. His service to the nation will always be remembered and revered.
In Buffalo Junction, Timothy was a cherished member of Buffalo Baptist Church. He loved spending time on the lake with friends and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His passion for sports was evident, especially his loyalty to the Miami Dolphins. One of his favorite pastimes was having breakfast with close friends every morning at McDonald's, a routine that will be dearly missed by those with whom he shared that time.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 15 years, Wanda Rogers Griffin. Timothy's legacy will continue through his children: Jason Griffin (Michelle), Leslie Musa (Tolga), Ashley Griffin, and Karen Bowen (James); his stepchildren, Sabrina Harden (John) and Sara Lenhart (Dwayne). He was the proud grandfather of Bailee Johnson, Berkli Griffin, Derin Musa, Leyla Musa, Kaitlyn Bowen, Phillip Bowen, and Linzy Bowen, as well as step-grandchildren Hallie Vaughan (Jacob), Cole Lenhart, and Chance Lenhart. His great-grandchildren, Saylor Johnson and Parker Johnson, were the joys of his life. Timothy is also survived by his brothers, William "Billy" Griffin (Maxine) and Robert "Bobby" Griffin.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to First Care Hospice for their dedication and care towards Timothy.
A funeral service honoring Timothy's life will be held on Monday, October 5th, at 11 a.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chet Bergeron. A burial will follow in the church cemetery, where Timothy will be laid to rest in the company of family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, who compassionately oversaw the final arrangements.
Timothy Owen Griffin will be remembered for his kind heart, his hardworking nature, and the unwavering love and support he provided to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the stories and cherished memories shared by all who knew him.
