Tona Smith Jr.

Tona Smith Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 25th, 1946 to the late Tona and Delphia Smith, Tona lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and passions.

Tona spent his days enjoying the great outdoors. An avid fisherman, hunter, and camper, Tona found joy in the natural beauty that surrounded him. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for his grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

He is survived by his children, Robert Smith and his wife Jan, Kelley Smith, and Kourtney Santos; his cherished grandchildren, Elisa McGarr, Avery McGarr, Julian King, Naomi King, and Nicholas Smith. Tona also leaves behind his devoted siblings, Susan Lee, Barbara Courts, JoeAnn Kurucz, Linda Potts, and Kathy Ginn, as well as his son-in-law, Eli King and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tona was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Quetion Smith.

Tona's legacy of love, adventure, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
