Tony Dale Moorefield

Mr. Tony Dale Moorefield, 66, of Clover, VA died on December 19, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on November 28, 1947, son of the late George Filmore Moorefield and the late Elsie Snead Moorefield. He was a retired correctional officer of Camp 23 after 25 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia; one son, Barry Dale Moorefield of Nathlie, VA; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Moorefield Cole of South Boston, VA; two step sons, Robert Lankford and wife, Wendy of Red Oak, VA, Andrew Mark Lankford and wife, Angie of Clover, VA; one step daughter, Hilda Jane Kuhn of Lynchburg, VA; two step granddaughters, Cassie Lankford Hatcher of Red Oak, VA, Heather Dawn Lankford of Clover, VA; one step grandson, Chad Andrew Lankford of Clover, VA; a precious little step great granddaughter, Scarlett Ava Hatcher of Red Oak, VA; four sisters, Zemula Pickeral and husband, Bill, Betty Jane Cooper and husband, Cash all of Rocky Mount, VA, Ida Wilmouth of Scottsburg, VA, Joyce Farmer of Java, VA; and one brother, Charles Moorefield and wife, Barbara of Ringgold, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Chester, George and Harvey Moorefield. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home and at other times at his home, 1035 Guill Town, Rd., Clover, VA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Tommy Bryant officating. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery.
