Virginia Link Dunn, of Alton, Virginia, passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on Sunday, March 30th, 1930, in Halifax County, Virginia, She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, George Norman Link Sr. and Annie Wilborn Link, as well as her cherished husband, Ollie Dunn Sr. Their memories remained embedded in her heart as sources of strength and inspiration throughout her life.
For 48 years, Virginia dedicated her professional life to Burlington Industries as a skilled Cloth Grader. Virginia was not only a hard worker but also a pillar of her community and family. As a pivotal part of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, she took immense pride in participating in their card ministry. Her thoughtful gestures through this ministry spread joy, encouragement, and comfort to fellow congregants and friends.
Known as the rock and matriarch of her family, Virginia cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. She had a passion for Sunday drives, finding joy in the serenity of nature and the company of others. Her kind-heartedness extended far beyond her family, as she was known for her generosity, often donating to those in need. A lover of nature, Virginia found endless delight in watching birds, appreciating both their freedom and beauty.
She is survived by her children, Tony Dunn (Margaret), Danny Dunn (Janet), Melody Gordon (Mitch) and Ollie Dunn, Jr. (Tammy); 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Link, Willard Link, George Link, Jr., Hamit Link, Carl Edward Link and Earl Link; sisters, Alma Shutts, Lucille Turner, and Mildred Rogers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Sowder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 PM until 2 PM, at the church.
