Wendy was a soft spoken woman who lived a quiet life with grace and kindness in all she did. She was a wonderful mother, teacher, wife, and friend to all those who knew her.
She graduated from Hopewell Senior High School and went on to several colleges ultimately earning her Master's in Special Education from Old Dominion University.
Wendy was very passionate about education and worked for Mecklenburg County Public Schools for 27 years. Over her career she taught hearing impaired, GATE, after school remediation, and summer school as well as private tutoring from her home.
In her free time, Wendy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite things to do were swimming, shopping, sharing meals, and watching movies with her family.
Wendy is survived by her children; Melissa and Brian; husband, Ray; brother, Scott (Cheri); father, Tom (Margie); nephews, Mark and Neil; stepdaughters, Naudia and Olivia; adoptive granddaughter, Ruby; her three kitties, Squirtle, Bitsy, and Ralph; and many wonderful friends.
She was welcomed into heaven by her mother, Kathy; stepfather, Jim; her late husband, Rocco; and many grandparents; and special pets.
Funeral Services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate support during this difficult time.
