A proud and disciplined man, Bill served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps for three years. He exemplified the values of service, courage, and dedication that remained guiding principles throughout his life. After his military service, Bill pursued higher education, attending San Diego State before earning his degree from the University of Maryland. He retired as a government systems engineer. Bill was also a passionate hobbyist and co-founder of the Clarksville Model Train Club, where he shared his enthusiasm for model trains with the community and loved ones. Bill loved to travel. Throughout his life he explored the world with trips to Europe, Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Closer to home, there were many warm summer days he enjoyed floating down Antietam Creek in Maryland with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, William E. Morley III (Windley) and Kara S. Posner (Zachary); his grandchildren, Caroline, Isabelle, and Amelia; and sister-in-law Patricia Morley. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Michael Franklin Morley, and his dear friend Ruth Toone.
Bill was especially grateful for his friends and caregivers that became a part of his Clarksville family, including Mr. Brent Toone, Mrs. Jennifer Toone and Ms. Lisa Sheldon.
Following Bill's wishes, there will be no formal services at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville, Virginia.
