Wilma Hammock Creech

Wilma Hammock Creech passed away Tuesday July 29, 2025, in Wake Forest, NC at the age of 84. She was born on June 9, 1941, in Chatham County NC, a daughter of the late James David Hammock, Sr. And Maudie Lillian Pendergragh.

She retired from Amica Mutual Insurance Company and found joy in the simple pleasures of life which included bird watching, cooking for her family, spending time at the beach listening to the waves and crocheting thoughtful gifts for her loved ones. Her days were often filled with the sounds of country music and reading which brought her comfort and happiness.

One thing she always looked forward to attending was the yearly family reunions and spending time with everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Nancy Fay McDaniel, Janice Young, Addirose Moore Wann and her daughter Peggy Lynette Creech.

She is survived by her children, Tamera Sergent (Dean) and James Tyler Creech; grandchildren, Rachel Hohlefelder (Rob) and Deana Smith (Brian); great-grandchildren, Christian Barbour, Madison Hohlefelder, Hannah Smith, Preston Smith and Asher Smith; siblings, Aubrey Moore (Sherry), Johnny Moore, Ramon Moore (Karen), 7 nephews, 2 nieces, 1 great nephew and 7 great nieces.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Virgilina Cemetery.
